About the position

The Lawn Care Technician is responsible for efficiently, effectively, and safely performing lawn fertilizer and weed control applications. This position also plays an important role in the company’s snow & ice management services in the winter. 

Responsibilities

  • Work assigned schedule, which is typically Monday - Friday with occasional Saturdays
  • 24-7 availability during snow and ice management operations
  • Keep a clean, neat, organized, and well maintained vehicle and equipment
  • Participate in company training 
  • Complete accurate, legible, and timely reporting, including use of smart device
  • Have a desire to learn and grow professionally and personally
  • Maintain a professional image and positive attitude when representing the company
  • Work with minimal supervision, completing jobs below budgeted man-hours 
  • Communicate with clients in a professional manner
  • Perform daily preventative maintenance on vehicle(s) and equipment
  • Maintain chemical storage areas in facility and vehicle(s)
  • Adhere to safety and PPE guidelines while working and applying chemicals 
  • Perform basic maintenance and repairs on equipment 
  • Perform miscellaneous tasks as assigned to support the company

Requirements 

  • Experience a plus, but will train the right person
  • Exemplify the company’s core values: pride, discipline, efficient, flexible, and resourcefulness
  • Must be 18+ years old
  • Able to lift 50 pounds without assistance 
  • Sufficient education and/or experience to perform the necessary functions of the position. 
  • Able to safely and efficiently operate necessary equipment 
  • Able to safely and efficiently operate snow & ice management vehicles and equipment
  • Able to safely operate vehicle & trailer
  • Valid Driver’s license 
  • Excellent English written and oral communication skills 
  • Able to safely handle the physical and mental demands of the job, with sufficient strength and endurance to perform assigned work
  • Ability to read and understand chemical labels
  • Ability to perform simple math calculations
  • Able to accurately measure products in both liquid and granular forms
